Enclosed are the current proposed resolutions referencing National Security & Foreign Affairs, POW/MIA, and Veterans Services to be proposed by the Commander-in-Chief to the delegates attending the 109th National Convention. With minor changes to keep them current, a majority of these resolutions have been approved at previous conventions.

These resolutions are being provided for review purposes and need not be returned to this headquarters. If the delegates to your convention have objections to or suggestions to possibly amend any of these resolutions, please return it with the comments regarding the concerns and the National staff will advise the Commander-in-Chief on possible actions.

To re-emphasize, these resolutions require no action by your Department Convention other than to discuss, debate and direct the respective committee members and registered delegates from your Department. However, the National Convention committee members or registered delegates can still take the concerns of your membership to the National Convention committee meetings and the convention floor for a final determination by the delegates.

Also enclosed are directions on How to Prepare a Resolution for your use in preparing those resolutions the Department desires the pertinent committee to consider at the National Convention.

Immediately after the close of your Department Convention, please mail to this office your Department resolutions approved by your convention that require action by the National Convention. This includes resolutions concerning matters of interest beyond your Department.

Please do not forward any Department resolutions that were rejected or disapproved by your Convention delegates or resolutions that are state issues.

Resolutions on federal legislation, Department of Veterans Affairs’ issues, Department of Defense policy or other matters of national significance approved by your Department must be acted on by the National Convention before becoming policy of the National organization.
