CREDIT ALLOWANCES
1. Mileage credit is $0.70 per mile (round trip to place of visit) for each Cootie making the visit. If other than private vehicle is used the actual fare cost can be claimed. Cost of any air travel can be claimed only if the Cootie or Cooties are making the trip solely for the purpose of the hospital visit and the air fare is being paid by then Pup Tent.
2. Hours: Preparation time, travel time and visitation time can be claimed for each Cootie participating At the rate of $13.75 per hour.
3. Funerals: Credit each Cootie attending for the number of hours spent at the funeral and travel time. Any money spent for flowers or other material for the funeral can be claimed as gifts.
4. Gifts: Actual retail cost of gifts. By definition, Gifts include anything bought by the PT or Cooties for use by the patient. Credit for used gift items shall be no more than half the original cost. Operation Uplink calling card donations can be credited under this section.
5. On the PT Hospital Report form be sure to identify the hospital where visit Was made and briefly describe any gifts given. Visits to the homes of sick veterans or their family members can be included as hospital visits.
6. Cost of items such as eyeglasses, wheelchairs, etc. which are given to a veteran can be included as gifts on the reports
