Listen up Cooties.
I continue to have really lousy time with this recouping from the high water it prevented me
from attending the November scratch in Chiang Mai and the December Scratches in the PI and Chili Cook off in
La Union, um that’s Philippines also. Anyway my thoughts were with the lousy bugs enjoying their scratching.
I congratulate VFW Post 9892 for taking 3rd place again this year. I think this was the first time that both the
1st place and 2nd place entries were both first time entries. 1st place went to MOB a gaggle of foreign cooks,
none being American, while 2nd place went to a group of cooks from Big Kahuna Resort from nearby San Juan.
Cooties concentrating on having a lousy time and not properly seasoning the Chili.
So far during the 2011-12 year, I have been able to visit only PT#6 when they formed for a scratch in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. But I did not know that the water
would keep me away from attending the scratches in PI. I am still awaiting news as to whether Guam will be able
to form a Pup Tent; I still have a visit to the island on my agenda. Hopefully also visits to the PT’s in Japan
and Korea during the remainder of my term. I will have to wait and see.
Cooties, if you have seen and read the different Pup Tent program reports, you know that the Grand is hanging in there in its programs but with the date for final
reporting to Supreme as being April 30, 2012, it will still require work to meet all our quotas. I know that
some Pup Tents are okay, but there are others that will have to go all out to make the deadlines. Can it be done? Yes it
can…as indicated by the Great Blue Louse.
Can the Grand meet Supreme’s requirements and continue being the best, while we
“Keep em Smiling in Beds of White”? Only you Cooties can do that!
Supreme will not have a PT “All Star” program again this year and is leaving it as an
option for the Grand’s. The Grand of Pacific will have an “All Star” program. How-
ever, to be considered, each PT will have to meet the following requirements:
• Must be 100% of the Membership quota that was established by Supreme and is
based on the adjusted 2011 membership as shown on the Grand Membership Report
published by the Grand QM.
· Must be 100% of Hospital quota as established by Supreme. This is based on the
adjusted 2011 membership as shown on the Grand membership report times
$265.00 for each Cootie.
· Must have 100% of Supreme Special projects. This quota is $1.00 per cootie based
on the Supreme adjusted 2011 membership.
· Must have 100% of Scholarship donation. This quota is $1.00 per cootie based on
the Supreme adjusted 2011 membership.
· Must be inspected.
· Must have submitted monthly VFW Booster Reports.
· Must have completed and submitted all Audits to the Grand in accordance with
Section 325B of the Supreme By-Laws.
The selected Pup Tent(s) will receive a certificate from the Grand Commander and
may purchase, from Supreme, “All-Star” patches for their Cooties to wear on their
cootie uniforms or hats, in recognition of the extra effort by their Pup Tent(s).
As a reminder, Pup Tent elections start January 15 and must be completed and by
March 31. The Grand needs Officers and Volunteers who are willing to accept the re-
sponsibilities that go with the title and do what is necessary to see that the jobs get
done.
In closing, I want to thank the members of Post 2485 and the Cooties of Pup Tent
#15 for hosting another excellent C of A; we managed to complete everything and
had fun doing it.
Meanwhile “Keep em Smiling in Beds of White”!
Yours in L.O.T.C.S.
