Memorial Day, Conducted Memorial Day Rituals, placed flowers and American
flags on grave markers.

June 3 , Street
Kids feeding started for the year. Monthly Donations of 2,500 pesos to
feed the kids once a month.

June 9,
Commander Larry returned from the US and assumed command of the post.

June 16,
Attended the blessing and opening of the new Street Kids Home and office.
Donated 21,000.00 pesos for their scholarship program. (Thirteen Kids are

July 4th,
celebrated Fourth of July at the Red Lions Inn. Over 100 members,
dependents and guests attended the barbeque.

Aug 20, started
soliciting for cash prizes for the Baguio Country Club Caddy’s
Tournament. This is to help the caddy’s who were out of income for almost
2 months due to the recent typhoons and heavy rains.

Commemorated VJ Day at the US Ambassadors house in Baguio.12 VFW members
and 15 non VFW attended the commemoration. Click

Sep 11, Caddies
Tournament. 33 Caddies participated in the tournament, Cash prizes was
awarded to the children of caddies who are in the elementary and some high
school level. A total cash prize given out was 40,000 pesos. 57 children
of caddies received 400 pesos each Food and beverages were also served.

Received $200.00 donation from Michael Avillo from Oregon for cemetery
maintenance, approved additional budget of $120.00 for same project.

renovation of American/Filipino cemetery 2 with 37,000 pesos initial

received 10,000.00 pesos donation from VFW Member Ike Sobrepena for the
Cemetery Project.

Oct 16,
Commander coordinated with the Camp John Hay Management Corporation to
request a written approval for the Post to maintain American/Filipino
cemetery 1&2.

Oct 17, Visited
the Juveniles detained at the Baguio City Jail. Served food and donated
t-shirts courtesy of Mrs. Carol Zabala (Commanders sister).

Veteran Edward Brooks (served in the USAF passed away) the widow requested
for assistance. 3 VFW members drape American flag on the coffin. Started
to raise funds to help the widow who is in need of financial help...

Oct 30, VFW was
able to raise 21,000 pesos and donated it to the widow of the departed

Assisted Mrs. Brooks to claim VA benefits for her departed husband.
